BIENESTAR prioritizes the elimination of stigma and discrimination against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) individuals and their families. The famous TV host and Journalist of Univision Daniela Ganoza, joins forces with BIENESTAR to fight homophobia and discrimination by serving as the spokesperson for this initiative. The agency proudly announced the launch of its latest anti-homophobia initiative with numerous interviews in different TV channels and a community forum in Hollywood.
Our goal is to continue to collaboratively work with other entities such as social media to utilize all resources to educate every single family and household to end stigma and discrimination so that all individuals are treated with respect and dignity regardless of whom and how they love. Daniela stated, "I'm proud to be the spokesperson for this campaign; many youth are still committing suicide as a result of being bullied because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. No child deserves to grow up feeling ashamed of who they are," emphasized Ms. Ganoza.
Oscar De La O, President of BIENESTAR indicated that, "in the Latino community unconditional love and family are important values, but when the children are rejected for being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, it is a breakdown of our beliefs. We hope everyone will join Daniela and BIENESTAR in our efforts to stop homophobia" concluded Mr. De La O.
BIENESTAR truly believes that joining forces with LGBT allies to continue to educate our families about stigma and discrimination of LGBT individuals is not just an LGBT community issue, but a social issue that impacts all families regardless of race, social class and/or religious beliefs and values.
BIENESTAR continues with its homophobia campaign series that have included celebrities like the famous Mexican singer and actress Angélica Vale, international actress Kate Del Castillo, renowned regional Mexican singer Graciela Beltran, La Reina del Pueblo and Dra. Isabel "El Angel de la Radio" ("The Angel of Radio").
